Safeguarding policy
Safeguarding
NorthQuill Document Services takes safeguarding seriously.
Our work can involve sensitive family circumstances and information relating to children and vulnerable adults. We are committed to responding appropriately where a safeguarding concern arises.
Our approach
Where someone may be at serious risk, immediate safety takes priority.
If there is an immediate risk to life or serious harm, the appropriate emergency service should be contacted by calling 999. Routine paperwork should never delay an emergency response.
For non-emergency concerns, the appropriate safeguarding route will depend on the circumstances and the area concerned. This may include the relevant local authority Children's Services, MASH or adult safeguarding service.
Important boundaries
NorthQuill does not:
- Investigate allegations
- Determine whether abuse has occurred
- Provide legal advice
- Provide legal representation
Where safeguarding information is provided to us, we will distinguish between information reported to us, allegations and established findings. We will only share information where necessary and proportionate for the relevant lawful purpose.
